It puts us in bondage.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Contrast with the freedom that the Holy Spirit brings us (2 Cor. 3:17)<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>It aims to paralyze and ultimately destroy us<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>This spirit is not from the Lord<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>It brings with it torment (or punishment)<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>It\u2019s also driven out by perfect love (1 John 4:18)<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Fear brings division.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>We\u2019ll push others away<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>You cannot walk in Christ\u2019s true love towards someone when you\u2019re walking in fear<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>It promotes self<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Contrast with love which brings a desire to lift up others (Phil 2:1-4, Romans 15:1-3)<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Fear causes you to do just enough to scrape by<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>The Lord desires that we work heartily and do things with excellence (Col. 3:23)<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>He desires to promote us for the purposes of His glory<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Daniel<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Joseph<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>He\u2019s not going to promote someone who\u2019s just scraping by (Prov. 22:29)<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Freedom From Fear<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Recognize it<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>If we don\u2019t know it\u2019s there, we\u2019ll never deal with it.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Fear is very insidious and it will hide deep.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>If often masquerades itself so well that we think it\u2019s just part of our personality and who we are.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>God will reveal it to us.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Repent<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Confess to the Lord that you\u2019ve been submitting to the spirit of fear, ask His forgiveness (1 John 1:9)<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Make the decision to turn away from fear.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Replace it<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>You cannot have a spiritual vacuum inside of you.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>Once you have evicted the spirit of fear, you will need to replace it with the Holy Spirit otherwise it will return.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Scriptures: <\/strong>2\u00a0Timothy 1:7, 2 Corinthians 3:17, 1 John 4:18, Philippians 2:1-4, Romans 15:1-3, Colossians 3:23, Proverbs 22:29, 1 John 1:9, Matthew 12:43-45<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Greek Word\u00a0deilia: Timidity, fearfulness, cowardice Fear is an evil Spirit It competes against the Holy Spirit for control over our lives.
