It was a form of reverence and submission to the Lord.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Martha<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>She welcomed the Lord into the home<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>She desired to have His presence in her home.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>She got busy with serving<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Distracted: In fact she was so busy doing what she thought was good to serve that she was distracted from the actual purpose of Jesus\u2019 visit.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Resentful: She was a little upset that Mary wasn\u2019t serving in the same capacity.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Jesus\u2019 Response<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Martha<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>\u201cYou\u2019re worried and troubled\u201d &#8211; or anxious and disturbed.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>The Lord clearly says that we\u2019re not supposed to be anxious about things<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Luke 12:29 &#8211; The world is anxious &amp; worried about things. We\u2019re not called to be like the world, but to trust God. He knows our needs and will provide them.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Phil. 4:6 &#8211; We are told instead of worrying to make our requests and needs known to the Lord.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>She had many things on her mind.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Mary<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>There was one necessary thing and Mary had chosen it.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Stopping and hearing what Jesus has to say is absolutely essential, more-so than any other capacity in which we may serve.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Jesus went on to say that it was beneficial and it would not be taken from Mary.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>It\u2019s fellowship with the Lord.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>We\u2019re quiet, still and listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit, bringing us the words of the Father.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>This is what Jesus did when He walked the earth. He would withdraw to solitary places to spend time with the Father.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>It is a place of repentance<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Luke 7:36-38.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>The woman here knew she was a sinner and she knew who Jesus was.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>This was an act of humility and repentance at His feet.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<li>\n<div>We can bring our needs to Him while at His feet<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Luke 8:41 &#8211; Jairus<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>1 Peter 5:6-7 &#8211; Jesus desires that we cast our cares upon Him<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>We need to hear His voice<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>1 Kings 19:11-13 &#8211; the Lord\u2019s voice is a still small voice. We need to put ourselves in a quiet place to hear it.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>1 Peter 5:8 &#8211; the devil goes about roaring like a lion. He\u2019s loud, demanding attention.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>We need to abide in Jesus if we want to be fruitful<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>John 15:1-8<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>He will prune our lives to remove things that hinder us.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>We can do nothing apart from Jesus. In order for our service to be of any use to Him, then we need to allow His fruit to develop in our lives.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>His fruit develops in our lives when we spend time fellowshipping with Him.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Matt 7:21-23<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>There will be many who did things for the Lord but that did not have a relationship with Him.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>It\u2019s not the works that will determine where our lives end up, it is the relationship.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Sitting at the feet of Jesus is key to developing our relationships with the Lord.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>How do we get to the Master&#8217;s feet?<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>We first have to get into His presence.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Matt. 6:5-10<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Get into a quiet place.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Acknowledge who the Lord is.
