We have to make a choice – are we like the disciples in the boat who whined and complained about the storm, or are we like Jesus who spoke to the storm and calmed it?

In order to construct a spiritual house that will withstand the storms, there are three essential materials. Jesus is the builder – we need to get Him the materials, but He knows how to do the work.

In a physical structure, the mortar is what holds the blocks together and gives them strength. It is made out of sand, cement and water.

In a spiritual structure, the mortar is love. We need to understand that love is progressive:

When we get to a place of being able to love our enemies, we will be like Jesus who loved His enemies.

The blocks are faith, built on the Word of God.

The blueprints are hope – what do you hope your life will look like when all is said and done? It brings about a revealing of the finished work.
